Nick Popaditch Viciously Attacked in Editorial Cartoon!

I won't dignify the horrendous editorial cartoon, with the likeness of Nick Popaditch, Iraq War hero, Silver  Star/Purple Heart recipient, by showing it the here. The cartoon ran in Saturday's Imperial Valley Press and has even been denounced by his Congressional opponent. It shows a poster, with Gunny-Pop's eye patched image, on a wall and two skate boarding thugs making derogatory remarks about him. Popaditch is a candidate for the United States Congress in California's 51st Congressional District. I refuse to print the cartoon here but if you wish to click on the link to view it, that's your business.

Popaditch became the face of the Iraq War when the picture, tilted the Cigar Marine, was shown on the front pages of  newspapers all over the world. He and his unit were pulling down the statue of Sadam Hussein in Baghdad, at the beginning of the Iraq War, and he stopped to have a celebratory cigar. A year later, in a battle in Falluga, Iraq, images of his U.S.Marine Corps ending injury, the loss of the sight in his right eye, were flashed across the world in video of the battle that actually caught Popaditch being hit by an RPG.

The hateful West Coast attitude of disrespect toward the Military continued even in the Los Angeles Times apology headline. Popaditch's name is not even mentioned; his opponent's name is. The apology in the Imperial Valley Press  on Tuesday morning is disingenuous at best but, in my opinion, still has a mocking tone.

Popaditch is taking exactly the right attitude in dealing with the cartoon. "I've got much thicker skin than that," he said. "It's not going to hurt me in any way." He is, however, concerned about the attitude of some toward the Military in general and how this will affect other troops.

To get a sense of who this man is and why he deserves to be a United States Congressman view the video trailer to his book, Once a Marine here or on Youtube.

Pros and Cons for June 28th, 2010

Dear Dan,
I am not an American, nor do I live in the USA, but I wanted to let you know that I look up to you and respect you for the strength, compassion and for the obvious values and ethics that drive you. I saw the Extreme Make Over show you were on, and wanted to find a way to send you a message to tell you how much I respect you, when I came across the Congress site, I nearly jumped out of my chair, you are exactly the kind of man that should be in a form of political leadership, a real person, with real knowledge of how every day people live, feel and hope, every country could do with people like you in the political arena, it would only make the world we live in a better place. More power to you. I wish the best for you in your political career from here on out, and am sure you can go all the way.

Much respect,
Shane Vital,

Letter to Dan from a childhood friend,
Greg James,
Danny, it was SO good to see you tonight at Old Shawnee Days, standing proud in Uniform sporting the medals you have so humbly earned through your service to the Americans that you call beloved. Upon seeing you (first time in too many years) I had to restrain my emotions because in your absence. I had thought of you often in the past, only hearing bits and pieces of news, my worry still lingering. I indeed was overjoyed. Time does a wondrous thing to us.

Sure I miss the good old days when you and I, Joey, Wes, Bobby, and the other guys would hang out on Bonnie's front porch and have all kinds of fun. But as God would have it, we moved on into each of our own futures.

I am blessed to say that I am very happily married 22 years to a beautiful wife, with two sons brought up in the church that are honest, hard working, trustworthy, respectful and proud of this country. Hardly could a man ask for more. But I do ask for more.

I ask that we as AMERICA waken from this deep funk of liberal communistic mind programming that the enemy has brought upon us like a darkening cloud. A cloud that harbors a hidden death rattle for all that stands for what is right, good, upstanding, honest and God fearing.

Not only has the enemy advanced, they have come under the wire, gradually introduced their agenda into our system, disguised themselves as "Americans of like mind" just as wolves in sheep's clothing. Never resting a moment, they have infiltrated, and have come to put the oppressor at the helm of our beloved country! Never have I been more worried for my fellow countrymen and comrades. This ruthless ilk continuously brainwash our children, re-write history, pound us to become multi-culturalistic, shake a finger at our patriotism and force upon us their unlawful and un-Godly views in the name of diversity and acceptance!

I do ask for more. From our fellow man, from every true hard working American in this land and anyone who would stand beside me. I know you are in our ranks and I thank God for you Danny. I ask we stand in dire straights and face the enemy. I ask that the Giant that was awakened at Pearl Harbor and 911 be stirred to a sober wrath. A righteous, patriotic wrath that seeks to bring us from the brink of sure destruction.

Thank you so much for the leadership you yearn to provide. We need loved ones that will give our posterity a gleaming hope in our future, and I see this in you Danny Gilyeat. Its a beautiful thing to behold. There is still a good heart in America, and it shines forth from your inner being and it makes my heart beat with pride.

I type through blurry eyes as I send this to you because it touches me deeply to know that we still have a chance. All is not lost. I see a hope in tomorrow as long as God provides us with one.
May the Lord guide you in all your endeavors and have mercy on us as a Nation that has seemingly forgotten Him.

As I did today, I salute you as a beloved brother in arms and a shining hope for all Americans who love and stand for the original America that was created by our forefathers!

SEMPER FI MY BROTHER.
In all love and admiration, Greg, Pamela, Gregory, and Shadow James.

Godspeed my friend!
We will be with you 'till the end!

Dan Makes an Impact Face to Face...

I had the great privilege of meeting Dan Gilyeat yesterday morning.  He is an ex marine Sgt who lost a leg in Iraq.  He is a breath of fresh air that has a passion to make a difference in Washington.  His number 1 goal is to put this country back on the track our founding fathers meant for it to be.

I urge you to get to know Dan, his principles, his ideas, and his vision.  He needs our support.  This is a grass roots candidate that can make a difference.  This is his website.  http://www.danielgilyeat.com

There are a lot you that sit at your computers all day long with nothing better to do than send political emails complaining about how this country is run.  Well here is a candidate that can use that energy.  Get behind a fellow brother Marine, a veteran, a man with a sense of God, Country and what is correct.

Let’s get this guy elected and start the revolution!!!

Dan received this e-mail through his website the other day and he decided to answer it. It was sent through SquirrelMail....a web browser that hides the senders information. The e-mail link leads nowhere. Guess he's a coward who's afraid to directly take on a Marine....

Name: I.Work.Hard
Email: Paymyownbills@aol.com

Comments:
I would like Dan to attend a full day of work at a job that he found himself. My
understanding is that this man does not work, can barely pay his own bills, etc.
How can you honestly represent the working class when you don\'t even work. Stop
sponging off society and get a job you cadge!!!

Dear I.Work.Hard

Wow, I must have hit your last nerve.
A cadge? I had to look it up and simply put it means being a freeloader.
I don't know why you need an accounting of my work ethic, my finances or my life, but I'll try. I've worked many full days as a heavy equipment mechanic before I joined the US Marines. I owned and ran Frankenstein Classic Cars, after my first four year tour in the Marines.

911 interrupted most caring American's lives; mine as well. I immediately went back on active duty. I volunteered to go to Iraq in 2003. A war zone is not a pleasant place to be. Long hours, sand fleas, scorpions, 110 degree nights and even hotter days. You have to be vigilant 24/7 or you can get yourself or your friends killed. I volunteered for a second tour to protect and defend my country, my family; even you. It didn't go so well. I came home after having my leg blown off and thousands of pieces of shrapnel embedded in my body.

I worked hard to learn to use my prosthetic leg. I broke nine of them while helping the Doctors and technicians perfect these appliances for other wounded warriors. I worked even harder learning to cope with the new realities of my life. I learned I had a gift for reaching other wounded men and women and their families. I used techniques, that I had perfected myself and taught others how to cope with the major life changes they faced.

The Nurses and Doctors at Brook Army Hospital took notice of my capacity to reach other wounded men and women. One of the nurses gave my name to Helping a Hero Foundation. They build modest homes for wounded warriors all over the country. The woman who ran Helping a Hero Foundation, Meridith Iiler interviewed me and thought my story was compelling so she contacted ABC about rebuilding my house on Extreme Makeover - Home Edition. The rest is history.

As a single Father, I've struggled financially to provide for my family. It isn't easy to rebuild a life after devastating injuries and a mountain of debt left to me by my first marriage. Last 911, God blessed me once more when I married the woman of my dreams. A woman I met because of that episode of Extreme Makeover. I'm a lucky man. I have seven kids, a new wife and I'm running for Congress.

I don't ask why God chose this path for me. I just accept it as the blessing it is and move on. God blessed my heart to let me see the spark good in everyone. Not everyone is going to like me, some will be jealous, some will just hate me for no good reason. I don't take anything for granted. God Blessed me with a second chance at life. A second chance to bring my children up to respect God, their family and themselves. I work in my community and I'm involved in my kid's schools.

I spent 12 years in a job I loved, a job most Americans won't do. I would have been a lifer but God had other plans for me. I am a Servant of the Lord, a husband, a Father, a friend and a decorated (Purple Heart, Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V) US Marine (R).

Something must have fired you up because you took the time to think up your clever user name and e-mail address and even look up an obscure word to use to try and insult me.

Thanks, that took some real effort,

Matthew 7:3 (KJV)
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

This was sent to me by my friend Robin...

CNN reported: Move along folks nothing to see here!
No reporting on this has ever been done that I know of. While our President says he is sorry to China for OUR human rights violations! Wonder if China said anything about the millions that have been murdered, or forced abortions, and other REAL crimes against human rights.

Let's talk about real human rights. The COYOTES that deal in human trafficking bring girls as young as 8 and 9 into the U.S. to be used for sex. Thousands of Latinos DIE in the dessert at the hands of their own people; these Coyotes who extort money or worse to bring them across the border. The Cubans that drown every year trying to get to Florida on makeshift rafts! These are men, women and CHILDREN dying to get here!

The ARIZONA LAW in does not cause this! We know that leaders in Washington D.C. have not read the Arizona Law.....have you? It only takes a minute to read and nowhere in the bill does it infringe on civil rights or human rights, nor does it allow Profiling. It does NOT allow anyone to be pulled over because of how they look. They can be pulled over or questioned only if they are already doing something against the law!

Please read the Arizona Law and understand it the way you should also know about the Healthcare Law and what it actually does to you. People this is all very important.

Robin

JUST OUTSIDE OF TUCSON, ARIZONA

Pictures Of Our Beautiful Southern Desert in Arizona.
HERE IS A REAL EYE OPENER FOR YOU. Another Monster Layup/Rest Area

This layup is on an 'illegal super-highway' from Mexico to the USA (Tucson) used by human smugglers.

This layup area is located in a wash area approximately .5 of a mile long just south of Tucson.

We estimate there are over 3000 discarded back packs in this layup area. Countless water containers, food wrappers, clothing, and soiled baby diapers. And as you can see in this picture, fresh footprints leading right into it. We weren't too far behind them.

As I kept walking down the wash, I was sure it was going to end just ahead, but I kept walking and walking, and around every corner was more and more trash!

And of course the trail leading out of the layup area heading NORTH to Tucson, then on to your town tomorrow. Is that an "abandoned" jeep?

They've already come through here. Is this America the Beautiful ?or another landfill?

The trash left behind by the illegals is another of the Environmental Disasters to hit the USA.

Had this been done in one of our great Northwest Forests or Seashore National Parks areas there would be an uprising of the American people........but this is the remote Arizona-Mexican border.

CNN does talk about light bulbs a lot though...You won't see these pictures on CNN, ABC, NBC or the Arizona Repugnant (Republic). Nor will they mention the disease that comes from the human waste left in the desert.
